We think of every guest as being part of the Inn by the Lake extended family. Seniors, however, are very special!
Perhaps this is because as we grow older & wiser we tend to appreciate the wonders of nature and the flora and fauna that abound in and around Inn by the Lake.
Boomers typically enjoy the freedom to travel during the spring and fall when the Tahoe Basin is less crowded and values abound.
Just a few years ago, August was the busiest vacation month of the year. This is still the case for the first three weeks of the month. However, with schools now going back early in many areas, the last week of August can be a great time to visit Inn by the Lake.
Hiking is a favorite past time of Inn by the Lake guests. An outing may consist of a pleasant walk around the beautiful gardens & grounds of Valhalla/Tallac Historic site.
A more ambitious hike would be the one-mile walk down to Vikingsholm, which sits on the beach at Emerald Bay. Be aware that the walk down is a breeze. However, the hike back up via the switch backs seems like three times the distance. Take your time!
